THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings (2025)

In a milestone achievement for 2025, the University of Zakho was recognized for its ability to cross scientific boundaries:

  • 1st Place: Among all universities (public and private) in the Kurdistan Region.
  • 2nd Place: Among all universities in Iraq.
  • Ranked Globally: In the 251–300 category.

QS Rankings

The QS World University Rankings are highly valued by prospective students and employers. For the 2026 Edition, UOZ has secured its place among the elite:

  • Rank: 201–250 in the Arab Region.
  • Strengths: High scores in International Research Network and Faculty-to-Student ratio.

Webometrics

Webometrics measures the volume and impact of university web content and the number of citations in the world's most influential scientific journals.

January 2025 Performance

UOZ continues its steady ascent in the Webometrics rankings, reflecting our commitment to Open Science:

  • World Rank: 3677
  • National Rank (Iraq): 20th
  • Regional Rank (KRG): 3rd among public universities.

AD Scientific Index 

The AD Scientific Index is a ranking and analysis system based on the scientific performance and the added value of the scientific productivity of individual scientists.

2025 Institutional Standing

  • 3rd Place in the Kurdistan Region.
  • 1st Place among all newly established Iraqi universities.
 131 Faculty Members globally ranked for their research impact.
